The lovely woodblock print 'Sakura' is by Kan Kozaki (b. 1942) and is printed on delicate and tasteful Japanese washi paper. The image depicts a woman surrounded by scattering cherry blossom petals, capturing the ephemeral beauty of the blossoms. The image part has very slight pink tint
Accompanied by a haiku by Santoka Taneda, a revered poet of the early 20th century, the print further conveys the transient nature of life and the sense of wanderlust evoked by the cherry blossoms. The haiku, "The cherry blossoms bloomed, and I am a traveler," poignantly reflects on the fleeting nature of the blossoms and life itself.
Cherry blossoms hold deep cultural significance in Japan, symbolizing love, beauty, and the impermanence of life. They have inspired poets, monks, and travelers for centuries, serving as a reminder to cherish the beauty in fleeting moments.

The breathtaking woodblock print "Seijaku" (Serenity) is by Kazuyuki Ohtsu. I spoke with Mr. Ohtsu about this print. He likes the mellow impression this older paper gives. Also, he mentioned that this temple is the Meigetsu-in temple as well known as Ajisai (Hydrangeas) temple in Kamakura, Kanagawa prefecture. One of his favorite temples.

Truly beautiful print. Shoji is a room divider or door consisting of translucent washi paper over a wooden frame.
