This heartwarming woodblock print, "Children and Summer Festival" is by Hitoshi Kiyohara (1896-1956). Printed in Showa 30 nen (1955). This print shows the Japanese game "Kingyo - Sukui" in summer. It is a very hard game. Japanese summer festivals commonly have a stall for this activity. Both children and adults enjoy the game. This game started in the late Edo period, around 1810.
