Japanese woodblock print "Love Letter" from ”浮世風俗美女競” Ukiyo Fuzoku Mime Kurabe (from the series Customs of the Floating World: A Contest of Beautiful Women) is by Eisen Keisai (1790 - 1848). Originally produced in the Edo period (1818-1830), this is a re-carved edition, published by Kyoto Hanga-in in the Showa period (Ca.1950). Eisen was a Japanese Ukiyo-e artist who specialized in Bijin-ga.
Publisher Name: Kyoto Hanga-in Shinagawa-ban, Carver name: Harada Kame, Printer name; Ito Satoshi on the left margin. Titled "Ukiyo Fuzoku Mime Kurabe" on the upper right, Subtitle (poem) in the square box on the upper left. Signature "Keisai Eisen- ga", "Kiwame" censor's seal, and original publisher's seal "Wakayo" from (Wakasaya Yoichi) on the right edge of the image. Very tasteful Bijinga print.

Japanese woodblock print "Bijin Tokaido - Nissaka eki" (Bijin Tokaido, Nissaka Station) is by Eisen Keisai (1790 - 1848). Originally produced in the Edo period, this is re-carved edition, published by Aratama Kankokai. (some people called Ishu kankokai). Eisen was a Japanese Ukiyo-e artist who specialized in Bijin-ga. This is No.26 Nissaka station from "Beauties and 53 Stations, Tokaido". Publisher name: Aratama kankokai, Carver name: Kazuo Watanabe, Printer name; Yoshiaki Watanabe, Papermaker (handmade paper): Sosho Yamaguchi) on the bottom margin. Truly beautiful colors and bokashi shading. Everyone knows Hiroshige's 53 stations of Tokaido series. Eisen designed an elegant series of Tokaido scenes featuring a Japanese beautiful women in each print. Also, please notice how Eisen put the season's motif in her Kimono in each print.
